Hi. What are you doing if you have to miss a few runs? Maybe a week due to illness?Do you take back a lit a bit or just carry on as you`ve done before?

As stated in the guide to the plan, if you miss just a couple of weeks you are unlikely to have lost discernible condition. After a longer break, all you can do is go out and see what you can comfortably manage, at a gentle jog, then rebuild from there.

I started C25K lest September and got as far as (just) completing W4 R1 a couple of times. For various reasons I lost my motivation at the beginning of December (I had other reasons, but if I'd kept my motivation these reasons wouldn't have stopped me). I decided to re-start in the New Year and originally planned to re-start at the beginning of Week 3, as I completed that last time. Last Friday I decided that I would re-start from the beginning and after runs on Saturday, Monday and today, I have now completed Week 1. I think that for me this was the right approach as although I expected to be going into this much fitter and more experienced, I've not found it easy (I know, it's not supposed to be) but unlike last time, I have completed week 1 in just 3 runs. I will now head into W2 feeling a lot more confident in myself, (but will not allow myself to feel complacent!). It depends where you'd got to and how long a break you had really. If you were to start at the beginning of the last full week that you completed as saw how it goes, you'll then know if this is the right place for you or if you need to drop back further let's face it, this is only 30 minutes of your life and a worth-while exercise (on both senses of the word). Whatever you do, good luck with it and please post back on here to tell us how it went.

Only you really know your fitness levels and running ability and how a few missed runs have effected you.

I started C25K at the start of 2019 and got to Week 7 before the motivation dropped off. I picked it back up again in September starting with W5R3. I used that as a test run to see how I went, if I struggled I would drop back a couple more weeks, if I was ok (I was) then I would keep going through the rest of the plan.

Hi, I kind of agree with the others and hope that helps you. I felt quite comfortable in my first 2 weeks week of C25K so I ran most days without a rest day that first week, but I kept doing each run in order as I’d rather smash it and feel confident then start later in the program and feel like I struggled. But then I started the programme in the first place to give me the confidence I guess so everyone is different. The most important thing is to start again if you’ve had a break as that defo the hardest part!! Good luck
