W2R3 Much Harder

Week 2 Run 3 completed. Today was much harder. I felt so heavy. Maybe it was the wind and rain in my face... or maybe it was because I've been trying to finish off the Christmas cake all week!!!!! Really worried about week 3 😰.

Wind in your face makes it harder. I sometimes take a bus to the far end of my favourite run just so I can run back with the prevailing wind behind me. Rain is usually good, it keeps you cool, but if it's of the horizontal variety and you happen to wear specs then ...

Don't worry about week three. It's only nine minutes of running, same as you've been doing in week two. Sure, you have a little less walking but you also have an extra week of training in your legs and that does make a difference. The training works. If you're worried about the three minute runs physically just go a little slower at the beginning. If you're worried about it mentally just treat it as the three minutes as 2x90 seconds and 'forget' to take the walk in between. You'll be fine.

Well done.

Everything going on in your life can affect your running, whether it is Christmas cake, hydration, restedness or nutrition, weather or the the time of year.

In time you will discern patterns and learn to avoid those things that impact negatively on your running.

Well done for completing 6 runs. It is hard to run with the wind and rain in your face. And your body is adjusting to this. Have a rest and some running gear therapy online. There are some good waterproof running caps with brims that protect your face a bit; they don’t protect you from cake though 😂😂

Some runs are like that... and I find, that it does not matter which way you run,the wind always seems to be in your face:)

Slow and steady is just fine... relax as you move on and know that each run will make you stronger and that you are ready for the next.

Some runs are good and some aren't. Personally, I hate running on a windy day and often arrange my timetable around the weather forecast.

You're doing great, just don't look too far ahead.

Well done, that's another week of the programme behind you. Let's face it, in life sometimes we find things are more difficult to do than others, for many different reasons, why should running beany different? You did it and you're moving on, so well done you!
