Hi, I’m Pete

As the title says I’m almost 50 and I have decided to set myself some goals. The first is to complete the couch to 5k.

Congratulations on starting C25K, take all the runs slowly, you can repeat any runs or week's if you wish to, don't run on consecutive days as that could cause a injury, good luck for your running journey with C25K 😊 🏃🏾

Very best of luck Pete it's a fantastic decision. I started it six months ago at the grand age of 54 and it's really brought something to my life. Enjoy every minute of it

Hi you have made a great decision. I am 52 and completed week 8 today. It’s not always easy but keep with it and you won’t believe how quickly you can progress. It’s worth it just for the post run high and sense of achievement. 😊

Go for it chocworkorange, I did it you can do it... One run at a time no pressure 👍. Rest days are as important as run days. Learn to love water (drinking it) and you'll be just fine.

Welcome Pete.

Have a read of the guide to the plan here healthunlocked.com/couchto5... for lots of tips to make this challenge easier, and better for you.

Not sure what your other goals are, but if any of them require stamina, C25K will give you a great base level fitness and endurance to work from.

You can do this... enjoy your journey.

Congratulations on getting started. I’m also 50 in a few months, and I’m really enjoying it, I’m now on wk8, or I was before I sprained my ankle. Hope to drop back a couple of weeks and start around wk 6 again. As someone else said you can repeat each week as many times as you want, you’re not in a race with anyone else!
