Hi I'm on wk6 run 3 and about 13 mins in my calf gets so tight and feels like it going to explode.

Should I run through it?

I've had plantar fascitis last year which I think started from my calf bring so tight. I don't want go down that road again.

All advice is welcome please

Advice on this is better sought from a physio. Sounds like a strain, rest is probably the best option. Trying to run through injury can equate to negative progress

Not sure strain coz it does not hurt after running. But will definitely have a chat with my physio guy

Do you stretch after running ?

Might be worth doing some calf raises on non-running days, add them to your strength routines.

As Paul said, might be best to see a physio.

Thank you. I'm going to implement more exercises

Stretching immediately after every run, nhs.uk/live-well/exercise/h... while muscles are still warm and supple, pulls out contractions, avoiding carrying tensions into the next run and also improves recovery by improving blood flow.

Thank you for the link. I will take a look. I think you are right need to be more vigilant in stretches and strength exercises for knees etc.
