Week 5 Run 2 completed.

Amazed myself today at running for 8 mins in one go. It's been a long journey to this point with several stops in n the journey stopping running for a month or so for various reasons. Pleased I pushed myself thinking "if I can just run for 6 mins, 7mins oh an 8mins". It was one of the first times that as I was running I could feel my legs aching.

Really nervous about a 20 min run. Am thinking my aim is for 2x 10mins runs with a short stop in between if needed.

Keeping positive thoughts and a positive mental attitude about the next run as I really can't imagine running for 20 mins solidly.

Well done on your progress.

Have a read of this breakdown of Week 5 and you can put it all into perspective. healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

Relax, you can do this.

Be positive, you’ll be surprised if you take it slowly - you can do it 👍😁

Really don't feel I could go much slower. I'm sure it's mind over matter and just actually keeping myself running and slowing down, if even possible, when I'm getting tired.

I couldn't imagine the jump to the 20 minute run but it was mind over matter! Perhaps try not having any expectations but just run at a slow pace and I bet you'll be surprised! Distract yourself/listen to music and don't think about the time at all! Good luck!

You can do this.

Positive mental attitude - did you know that W5R3 works out as the shortest session of the week? Now, doesn't that make you feel better?

It's actually a real buzz when you complete this run and know it was all your own doing.

20 mins.... you can do it.

Even if you thing you cant go much slower, you can. Start off real slow and see how you go.

You just might surprise yourself!

Let us know how you get on

You’ll be surprised ! Don’t get all stressed up about it, because anxiety tenses your muscles and bothers your breathing. Just look forward to seeing what you can do. You’ll probably nail it first time, but if you don’t, note what you manage, walk the rest and aim to beat it the next time. It’s the most amazing feeling when you get there - tissues pretty much obligatory 😄
