First run tomorrow: Not looking forward to it... - Couch to 5K
First run tomorrow
You can do it 👍 take it slow and try to enjoy it, even if the enjoyment is knowing you've started. Whatever you do, you're ahead of those still on the couch. No pressure.
I've just done my first run in the dark as I'm so embarrassed living in a village there aren't many street lights so I make funny patterns on my Fitbit map going up and down the lit streets lol
I'm going for a shower and seeing how I get on for the rest of the day I'm sure recovering in a few weeks will be much harder might need the Epson salts in the bath and a long soak who knows for now it's breakfast on a scrub 🤣 hope it run went or goes well
Post run stretches are always useful Links here...
Slow and steady is the mantra and of course...enjoy!

Then chill out and plan some strength and stamina work for your rest day
Hope it goes well. Try to stay hydrated. I like yoga to help stretch and recover.🧘♀️
Just take it easy - not too fast - do what you can - every step is an achievement 😍

You can do this.

You can so do this. This run is the start of a whole new adventure and life will never by the same again. Almost 6 years ago I was in the same position as you, about to start in w1r1 and anxious. Me, I was 55 and fed up with sitting about waiting to be old, so I bit the bullet and started c25k. It was a completely life changing decision and, although I've never managed to run 5k within 30 minutes, I've never looked back. I'm now training for my 6th half marathon and get an enormous amount of pleasure from running. I've never ever been fitter and I've met some absolutely lovely people through running, many of them from here on HU. My advice to you is to go slowly, take all the time you need and to check into this forum regularly - the lovely people here and their support, encouragement and advice will carry you through the difficult times and will celebrate with you during the good times. So chin up, smile and enjoy yourself, the very best is yet to come.
