First Park Run tomorrow

Ok, so I graduated last week and only did one run this week going into the park run. I am heading to Wimpole Hall for my first park run so am quite nervous. I am not expecting miracles on the first 5k run and anything under 40 minutes, for me, will be something to work on, if I am being perfectly honest. A year and a half ago when I first started the couch to 5k, I wanted to do the park run as the ultimate goal. I fell down after 8 weeks and had the dreaded plantar fascitis but tomorrow is the culmination of the hard work of myself and the physio to get me back on track. I read on here that under club you should do "couch to 5k" and that is exactly what I did. I know I can do it and providing the demons in my head are controlled(you know the ones that say "give up, you'll never do this") then I will get round and succeed in that goal. We will see how the run goes......

Have a great run, enjoy yourself and be sure and tell us all how you got on.

Well done you! My local park run is Milton, if you fancy that anytime let me know and I'll meet up with you. I haven't done Wimpole yet, it's on the list! (-apparently there's a great big hill - who said cambridgeshire was flat!) My demons scream from the moment I start, my legs are always saying 'what the hell are you doing!'

Look forward to seeing your park run report, good luck and most of all enjoy! Oh and don't forget your barcode!

Madge, I live near Cambridge Science Park so Milton was the nearest run but I fancied the straight circle of running. I am 100% certain that you will see me at some point over the summer for the Park Run there at some point.....

Great, and well done on today, Milton is also a bit busier, over 450 runners today and that's a 'normal' figure, us slower ones do get lapped, but I don't mind it. Hope to see you over there, or at Wimpole, when I've plucked up the courage for that hill!

That hill is an absolute pain in the backside. I heard about the hill but was definitely not prepared for it.

You go for it ! Hoping you have a great run tomorrow.

I hope you have a great run today. I have yet to do a park run. It's on my list, but I have not had the time. Let us know how you got on. Go for it, you can do it!

I'm doing my third park run in two hours time. Don't worry about your time. My first two have been just under 38 minutes and not been last by any means. Doesn't half help having others around you and you will love the atmosphere. It is superb
