I registered and printed off the bar code, but part of me still thinks, maybe it's too soon, do I really want to get up 'early' on a Saturday (I know it's not that early, but I start work at 6am during the week so feel like I am entitled to a chilled out morning)...and many other excuses. So I'm taking it out my usual insurance by posting my commitment on here. Once it's on here, it's got to be done....wish me luck π
My first Park Run tomorrow : I registered and... - Couch to 5K
My first Park Run tomorrow
Good luck!
I'm very envious of you being able to do it - I am dying to give it a try but there are none in my near vicinity. There are two about 10 miles away but getting to them is difficult without a car.
There is none in the town I live either Kid Xmas, however, I can get to two by bus, it does mean that I have to leave the house fairly early but I don't mind, I get to the park around 9.15 (parkruns start at 9.30 in Scotland) walk past the sign saying "caution runners" walk up the 300 metres where the run begins and after the briefing by the director welcoming runners from far and wide the run begins. π π
I am sure you can get to one of those parkruns that are 10 miles away.
By the way I was one of those "caution runners" last Saturday when all us runners were passing a volunteer who was holding back several people who were having a walk in the park until all the runners passed. π π
Now I've definitely have to do it. ...Maybe take a bus and make a bit of a day of it one day for it to worth the bus trip....I wonder how they start. Could you maybe get together with some other runners and organise one closer to where you live? I am sure it's a mammoth task, but if there's a call for it, might be worth thinking about?
Do it, do it, do it! Parkrun is fab, go along, join in, (there will be a first timers briefing, and you wonβt be the only first timer) take it easy, itβs a walk/run, not a race....... most of all have fun!
Oh and report back here afterwards.....
Mx
Right...don't think about it anymore...just go to bed tonight, set your alarm, get up, get into your running stuff (that you'll get ready tonight) and go do the parkrun...its only one saturday out of your life if you don't like it...but I bet you will!!! Good luck...and remember, it's your run, no one elses
Good luck Zebadee! Since you've started on the Magic Plan, I'm sure you're ready for Parkrun.
I understand what you mean about looking forward to your Saturday morning after being up early all week. But once you start parkrun you'll love it. I'm doing my second one tomorrow. Remember post tomorrow how you got on. Good luck ππ
Thank you all...as always......will let you know how it went π
