Hi All. So after losing 4 and a half stone last year I have decided it’s tine to get fit. I still want to lose another couple of stone too. Started C25K this morning and I think it nearly killed me. I didn’t realise how totally unfit I must be. I find walking briskly no problem but I really struggled with the runs. I have to admit I’m now a little worried that I won’t be able to do it. Please tell me I’m not the only one who found even the first run difficult

Congratulations, you've done the hardest run 👏.
My best advice would be to go slower. Check out Japanese slow running on YouTube, it's the way forward - literally.
Go with it. Remember pace isn’t important so slow right down. It’s a light jog where you can still hold a conversation not a race. I promise you can do it. I was the same when I started and I’m asthmatic but I slowed right down and it helped get through. The slower you run you build strength and stamina for future runs. You got this ! And we are here for support and encouragement 🙂

Hi. Well done for starting. It’s a really positive start to 2020. I can sympathise as I had lost lot of weight and then started C25k and realised I was super unfit. But if you concentrate on keeping going and slow down if breathless you’ll manage. It’s not a race so focus on completing times. I just finished the program and I’m sure you’ll graduate too. Best of luck and don’t give up. X

Looking at the plan on paper, running for 60sec and walking for 90sec to me sounded really simple and super easy. Until I did it and I soon realised it's tougher than I expected. So fear not, you're not alone. And as someone who can now run 10k just one year later, trust me, you can do it!
Oh, and a massive well done on that weight loss. Clearly you've got the staying power to get through the challenge, and as Speedy60 has already said, the hardest part is already done - starting!
Welcome to the family, this place is full of people cheering you on. So keep going.

You’ve made a great start to 2020 & a positive change in your life. We’ve all struggled at some point so you’re not alone. Take it slow & trust in this fantastic app & forum. Enjoy your fitness journey 😊👍
Congrats on your achievements! Seriously impressive stuff! 🙌 I found the first run really challenging (and humbling)... but we’re all in the same boat. This group is a great resource. So much inspiration to draw from. It is also a way to keep yourself to account and motivated to try again. Well that’s what I have found anyways...good luck with your next run. We’re all here cheering for you.
