Hello fellow runners. Wanted to say hello and get involved. I have always liked the idea of running but been told a few times that I am not a ‘runner’ and don’t have good form and will hurt my back/knees so never went for it. Then a couple of months ago, to support a friend going through chemo I did a Park Run with her (half walked it half jogged it) and actually made it (granted my itb was killing me straight away). And then I thought - forget what people say - I am going for it but in a supported way. And so have now started the couch to 5k. I have been waiting for the aches and pains to kick in but 3 runs in, it has been fine. I stretch before and after - for about 10 min or so. Perhaps too early but I think I may be able to finally become a runner. At 50 who knew!

Great start don't worry about what anybody else says or thinks you know you can do this good luck 😊😊
Good for you! Welcome to the forum, you'll find everyone on here to be supportive and encouraging.
Post often - with highs and lows or general ramblings all is welcome and keeps the forum active.
The very best of luck with the program.
Happy running x
Hallo emsn! Like you I’m not built for running - the fact I’m doing C25K causes much mirth among my family! But after the initial shock of actually doing W1 I decided I may not be a natural but I’m going to give it my best shot and more importantly I enjoy it! I’m sure you will too and I look forward to seeing how you get on!
Hi today I finished run 3 week 1. I’m 66 and carrying 2 stone too many. I actually am looking forward to next Monday’s run
We'll done, mean. Your in the right place fir support and encouragement. Carry on regardless 👌👌
I never thought I would run as I have a dodgy right knee but guess what it's been ok. I did suffer with sore legs in the beginning but i'm ok now.
Well done!

Enjoy your journey.
So pleased you've taken the plunge. Iv just started week 8 and it's been amazing. I struggled to run 90 seconds in the beginning but every single week I have surprised myself. You have to want to do it and it will happen. Keep running
Great well done
Well done, my sister said I was to old to start running at 59 😱 but my daughter's said I could, so I did the C25k, and last month I did a 10k run with my daughter's 😁.won't to improve my 5k time now .I feel better when I run 🏃♀️😁.
You ARE a runner! You’re no longer sitting on the sofa letting others say you’re not - you’re out there doing it! Well done and enjoy the program! Happy running 🏃🏽♀️
Good for you! Don’t let anyone tell you that you can’t! ❤️
