I'm here because I want to get some fitness back in my life and am inspired by so many people around me running and/or going to the gym. I've heard about Couch to 5K so thought I would investigate for myself. My search has led me here.

hi Colourmegray58....i'd highly recommend the couch to 5k schedule and app. The app together with the community has helped me to kickstart a long overdue fitness drive and return to running. hope you give it a go. i'm not a gym person (too self conscious) but have always loved running..good luck whatever you decide to do.
Welcome Colourmegray58 to one of best coaching running clubs in the world, the UK's. Healthunlocked NHS C25K running course. If you keep ridgidly to the program you will be able to run for 30 minutes in 9 weeks time, if you are not happy with any runs or week's you can repeat them, you don't need to run a 5K in 9 weeks but just run continuously for 30 minutes at the end of the month week. 😊 Good luck 🤞.
you've come to the right place Colourmegray58 , this community is fantastic for giving advice, guidance, support and encouragement, and has helped many of us go from being fairly sedentary to being quite committed runners. The app is really helpful, and having someone telling you when to run and when to walk helps to keep you on track.
The forum is also really good for motivation. Share your runs with us, the good, the bad and the downright frustrating and someone will always listen or give you a word of encouragement.
Good luck and happy running.
Welcome to C25k Colourmegray, I agree with all the responses. I started in September, followed the programme now I'm running 3 times a week, done two 5k parkruns and look forward to my run days when I'm on a rest day. It is transformative. I'm really slow but it's not about pace, I feel so much fitter. Good luck with your running in 2019 !
Welcome to the forum.
