I’m new to running! Wanting to get fit and be healthier! Working from home is great with no commuting but sometimes I don’t set foot outside the house for a day or more. I joined a few weeks ago and only mans 3 runs in 3 weeks and each I felt like I was dragging myself around with the help of the dog!

Had a talk to myself not good enough so just completed week 1 in 6 days! Not been easy but positive attitude is helping! Not sure I am looking forward to week 2 as know it will be tougher!

Any tips gratefully received!

Thank you!!

Congratulations for making the decision and getting started. Best tips are: go slow and slower still, each run should be at conversational pace, it really is not a race. Be kind to yourself- post here after each run and let us celebrate your achievements with you. Have fun. Happy running 🏃‍♀️

I second everything Grannytobe says. Slow slow slow xx and this forum is amazing. I would not have completed c25k without them 😍 like you self motivation was an issue x

Happy running xx

It's great that you've started the program. That's the hardest part done. You shouldn't find subsequent weeks harder as each week acts as a foundation for the next, slowly building you up to 30 minutes (forget the 5k thing). You will get sick of everyone saying this, but just take it SLOWLY, follow the program and don't forget to congratulate yourself at the end of each week. You're doing an amazing thing x
