Just did my first week 1 run/walk and it was hard........... As someone who has always avoided running (always had an excuse) I really need to sort myself out and get fit AND loose some weight in the process.

So, will it get easier and is it true that one day I'll get such a buzz from running that I will want to do it?

It will get easier. I know you can do it, just stay motivated!

Thank you- can you send me some motivation then after a hard day at work on Friday? Do I get up early and attempt it or leave it until the end of the day....... think I'll do the early shift!

welcome sue :) it will be a bit rough at times no one here will tell you its easy, however you will get there, trust in the programme and Laura one session at a time and post your blogs and we'll help you through because yes... there is a point where the buzz for running begins - so come along for the runs and find out when it happens for you :) (it probably won't be this week though ;) lol)

I'm at the stage where a hard day at work on Friday leads to just one thing: running!!! I even found myself resenting a colleague recently as she'd invited a few of us to join her for a drink after work to celebrate her birthday - I just wanted to go home and run!! (But it was her 60th, so I sacrificed it). For me, evening runs are a a great reviver (but then I've never been a real morning person, even though I get up before 6am most days....)

Hi there... I am at Wk3R2.... tho it has taken me about 6 weeks of reapeating stages to get there. I was amazed to run for 3 minutes on Monday, and fet gutted when I couldnt get for my usual wednesday run yesterday, as am now getting inspired by the progress I have made. So hang in there, you do improve, and you will be proud of yourself each time you do! Good luck.

Keep at it! I graduated a couple or so weeks back. Can so recall being done in after running the 1 minute stretches - and the self-worth buzz of now doing 30 minutes plus, but still not done in, is great. Personally I prefer to run before going to work, and feel much more awake during the day then. But it's horses for courses - try both! I also get up at 6 for work, and I told myself that 5.15-5.30 isn't that different.

Keep at it. I'm not a natural runner but i am on week 4 and today, rest day, i really want to go run. One day you will find your stride and realise that you dont feel like you are going to pass out... thats when you find yourself grinning madly! x

I have found there are good runs and there are bad runs. Put the bad ones down to experience (ie. maybe not do it after a long day or make sure your better hydrated next time) and enjoy the buzz from a good run! x

Welcome to the group and to the C25K programme, yes at the start its tough but believe in yourself and the plan and you'll be flying through it and really getting excited about each run.

It's strangely addictive, find a time that you like to go out (mornings/evenings, whatever you prefer) being well hydrated before hand helps too.

Before long you'll be thinking of new running gear, routes, technical gadgets etc.

You'll get no end of help, advice and support here :)

Hey Sue, well done for starting, I'm 41 too and have never run, didn't think I could but just run for three minutes in week 3. It is addictive and as you achieve new things you will be so inspired and pleased with yourself. Keep going!
