Soooo close to the end

I will attempt to tackle my last run of C25K tomorrow but unfortunately, I'm not close to the 5k. I've only been about 3.7 km, so I know I have a long way to go. It's hard not to feel discouraged but I'm proud of myself for being able to run as long as I can now. I never would've thought I'd be here looking back to week 1!!

Don't be discouraged! Look how far you've come! Running for 30 mins is a big achievement!

Give yourself a huge pat on the back 👍🏻 you'll get to the 5k in time, don't worry 😊

Thank you so much! I definitely have something to keep working for, even after I finish the C25K!

Wow. You have so, so much to be proud of.

On the verge of completing C25k... go you. What a fantastic achievement.

Who cares about distance. That's really not what this is about. Its about running for 30 minutes. Could you do that when you started?? I bet you couldn't.

5k in 30 minutes is something to aim for after graduation IF you want to!

Most important thing, is that you enjoy what you're doing, keep doing it and reap those health benefits.

You have every right to feel very, very proud of yourself

I absolutely couldn't do it when I started. I thought running for 5 minutes was crazy!! Now I can run for 30 minutes without stopping.

Thank you for your kind words! Definitely always more progress to work towards.

Well done for completing your journey. Isn't it amazing? Lots of people worry about the 5k, but few reach it before graduation. At the end of the day it's just a number and what's really important is how you feel. Tomorrow you will feel great because you've done an amazing thing. Celebrate it! x

Thank you for your kind words, it truly is amazing! Isn't it funny how impossible it feels at the beginning?

Minutes over miles!! The fact you are running now in solid blocks is brilliant! Pace can be addressed at a later stage but it's really not that important to most of us. If you are that way inclined then great, but for most on here it's first and foremost minutes over miles. Take great pride in what you have achieved. It takes a multitude of things to get to your stage and you have done it...well, will do it! Be very, very proud.

So true, and that helps me have a goal upon graduating. I get so caught up in the idea of running the 5k that I forget how impossible it felt to even run 5 or 10-minute blocks, let alone 30! Thank you very much.

Morning Sarah.... , it has taken me a very long time to get to W8 R 2 !!! This app has enabled me to enjoy running and the health benefits that go with it . As others have said just think about W1 R1 and how much you have achieved . I would say my distance is similar to yours but I just focus on the minutes . Go girl .

I know it says c25k but what you're really aiming for is 30 minutes. Think back to week 1 when it was 60 seconds and you are now running for 30 minutes non stop, it's an amazing achievement and you should be so proud.

There was a poll a while back about the distance reached at the end of wk9 and not many did 5k. Good luck with tomorrow's run😊😊

Only something like 15% of us get to 5K in 30 minutes by the end of the plan! Should really be called Couch to 30 Minutes, but just doesn’t have the same ring. 👍🤣 I’ll never make that time, but I’ve now done 10k (never mind the minutes!) and I love it. Just enjoy, and find the way that suits You. 🎉👏🏼

Oh, so don’t be discouraged - I’m just finished week 7, I know I’ll be nowhere 5k at the end, I’m just chuffed with myself for doing the time. My goal is to be able to do 5k, comfortably, and just keep aiming towards that. This is supposed to be a ‘change for life’. You’ve still got a goal after the programme ends. Keep going!

I was just the same! Just kept going for a couple more weeks at 30 mins, doing about 3.7 k, then last week I just kept running and managed 5k in 42 mins, legs were like jelly but I did it! So you can too, enjoy the runs and you’ll get there.

That’s exactly same as me and then i even managed to run 10km . Very slowly but love it!

Sarah, that's about my pace too& I'm mega happy. Lots to improve on but the main thing is moving for 30mins without stopping!

As everyone else has said, not many manage to run 5k in 30 min

You have increased your endurance to keep going for 30 min

Next time you are in your car, look at how far 3.7k is on your milometer, it’s 2.3 miles, a long way, and it will give you an idea of just how well you are doing

Well done

I'm the same, just two more runs to finish, but no where near the 5k. But that's next year.

Just very happy to be running 🏃‍♀️...😀

Congratulations! Finishing C25K is such a good feeling. It's not about the distance, it's the running for 30 minutes that counts - you can aim to run 5k (if you want to) afterwards, but enjoy the moment first ☺️

The graph IannodaTruffe posted is very useful if you’re feeling disheartened - it proves you are, in fact, perfectly normal! Well done for getting this far. I graduated earlier in the year and have continued running. Closest I’ve got to 5km in 30mins is at one Park Run where I did it in 31 something. Other thank that I’m just grateful I can run solidly for 30+ minutes when 1 minute felt impossible in March. Keep up the great work 😄🏃🏻‍♀️

No worries! I’m on my last week also and in the 30 minute run I can cover about 2 miles (2/3 of the 5k). I’ve had to slow my pace to run a solid 30 minutes. I figure speed will come later. This is just the beginning! Congratulations and keep up the great work!

There's no rush. Most of us don't do 5k in 30m at the end of the course. Some of us don't do 5k in 30 m ever. But you can increase your speed gradually once you get accustomed to running for 30m or increase the distance. Enjoy the journey - you've only just begun.
