So today I started my Week 9 run. Such a great feeling to be running for 30 minutes with no breaks and enjoying (most of) it. I was struggling the first 5 mins thinking what, why, how etc, but after a while you release that while asking yourself those questions you have progressed another 5 minutes so you just say "might as well keep going". @SoSurprised wrote in an earlier post about their progress and they are also in week 9 now, and I have to agree with everything they wrote. Its true that for those of us past our 30's (I am 42 in a week) and have not run further than the bus stop since our schools days, that we can not only achieve 9 weeks of running 3 times a week (thats 27 runs at about 5km per run so 135km in total) but can prove to those younger runners that we still have it.
Laura has always been very motivating, and having the support of family, and friends (that includes all you on this blog as we have really taken this journey together) has been great and I have already recommended to my friends to download the podcasts and get out there and start running.
So 2 more runs left before graduation (Thursday and Saturday) so looking forward to finishing with style, and then next week running knowing that I have achieved what I set out to do. 30 mins running, 1 1/4 stone down, and full of energy. Roll on the summer.
