but only in the running world.....

My day off so we had a lovely lay in, tea in bed and me reading posts on here, the rain was threatening so we thought we better get a move on before it puts us off.

I did suggest the beach but with the howling wind and lashing rain that didn’t go down well so we headed to the park

at two and a half k I threw my hat on the bonnet of the car as i jogged past, at three k i put my glasses in my pocket and sent up a quick prayer to St Jude that i didn’t lose them. Then it got really interesting as i have double vision,

Willow stuck to the track I did figures of eight and ran round the grass to make it a bit longer so we passed each other on the way round and blew kisses

At three and a half k the rain came down and Willow headed for the car but i wanted to cover four k so carried on and the next time i passed the car it was over four so i decided might as well run five and the last k was my fastest at 8.45 so i felt high and happy

Willow said i’m mad but i said it’s probably my only run this week so i wanted it to be a good one

now it’s time for a hot bath and christmas shopping

Thank you my fellow runners for encouraging and inspiring me to run

Oh and my time? 46mins19seconds my fastest 5k

That sounds like a perfect morning’s run. Well done on the Pb. The glow will help in the shops I’m sure. It’s getting busy out there. 🎄👏🏃🏻‍♀️

Brave you! I ran yesterday (thankfully) it was bright and calm. Today, it's way too wet and windy. Congrats on your time too - I bet you felt good after that and rightly so!

Yes definitely mad, but aren't runners all a bit mad (in a good way) ...... and don't we have fun? I have pictures of your figures of 8, 👀without glasses 😂. Sounds a great run and the park, not beach, very wise on a day like today. 🌊

The seafront would have been horrible the park is surrounded by trees so quite sheltered

You did very well Sola, you were brave enough to complete the 5K when Willow found the going a bit hard when the rain ☔ came on, onwards and upwards 🏃🏾 👍 congratulations also on getting a PB, it won't be long before you get a sub 45 minutes 5k. 😊 🏃🏾

My problem was i wanted to keep running and get 6 k but thought Willow would get cold waiting, i have always run a bit but this is the first time i followed a programme and joined a forum which has spurred me on loads

Well done both! Think you made the right decision on avoiding the seafront - it’s been pretty wild here in Southsea today as well!
