So before I head off to a 3 day residential with the school, at which I will not be able to run due to time and staffing constraints, I thought I’d get out there today as I won’t be able to run till Sunday!!
It was unseasonably warm, I mean 12°C and not a frost or chilly wind anywhere in sight. Just a pleasant warm breeze coming off the lake and it felt like the beginning of spring!!
Headed round the lake, singing loudly to myself, I passed the ASBO swan,(he really doesn’t like anyone going near his wife and children), a new ‘Caution, wasps nest’ sign has been erected and I’m thinking to myself ‘Don’t you come buzzing round me as I’ll have to do my ninja moves on you’. Wasp crisis averted as I just put my foot down, I headed on towards the cows 🐮 only to find they weren’t there!! That threw me for a bit as I’ve always said a polite good morning/afternoon to the cows and I felt that I had missed out on something today.
The running was good, solid, peaceful, beautiful and head clearing and to my surprise when I had reached 5K, I discovered that I’d completed it in my fastest time to date!! 34mins 41secs. Wow 😲 I couldn’t believe it!! My goal was to try and get under 35mins before December and I’ve achieved it with 2 weeks to spare!!
So, as I go off to pack for my residential, (which is at a water sports centre so I will be getting plenty of exercise), spare a thought for me. 3 days with 40 children who are aged ten and eleven with only 3 other teachers to keep me sane!! Let’s hope they’re worn out from the activities so they sleep well......I can only dream 💭💭
See you on the other side......Hopefully 🤞🏼🤞🏼
