Chuffed! W5R3 done ✅

Betcha didn’t know I could run for 20 mins!

I bloomin didn’t!

But I can!! 👏🏼

This was such a mental challenge for me. A few times I thought I might not be able to do it and I did look at the clock twice! And my breathing wasn’t perfect. And I went slow and I got tired.

But I did it! I went out there with the knowledge that I might not do as well as I would like. But I went anyway! That’s not what I do!

Running has already taught me so much and I keep discovering things about myself, my mindset, my running environment - every run I do!

I’m so grateful for this app, this day and my awesome body 💪🏼💜

I’m off for lunch because I’m ravenous 😊

Thanks for reading x

I did actually. As soon as I saw you were following couch to 5k, I knew you would be able to run for 20 minutes. 👍Just like I know that in a few weeks time, you'll be able to run for 30 minutes. 😉

Thank you. Encouragement from folk here got me through. If I can do the same for someone else, I've done something useful 😊

Congratulations to you Misspiggy89 (love your username) on completing run 3 of week 5, you should be very proud of yourself, that is a milestone run with C25K.

Onwards and upwards to week 6 run 1 but be careful about that run as it catches out some people with the interval walks and runs after the non stop 20 minutes of W5R3 which you have just ran 🏃🏾

Misspiggy89 in reply to AlMorr

Thank you!

I’m muppet crazy 😜

Really? How does it catch you out? That’s so interesting!

Thanks for the tip 👍🏼

AlMorr profile image
AlMorrAmbassadorGraduate in reply to Misspiggy89

Going back to interval walks and runs is the reason, your muscles in your legs got used to the non stop 20 minutes run, but if you take the two runs of week 6 especially slowly you will be OK 🏃🏾👍

I love Miss Piggy. What a gal! 😃. She reminds me of - and I wonder if indeed she was modelled on - Hot Lips Houlihan from M.A.S.H. 😁

It’s amazing! Who knew 🤷‍♀️😁

If your breathing is ragged then slow it down 🙂

Keep going slowly and carefully and take each session as it comes. You’ll be amazed what you can achieve You have to go carefully though

Have fun 😃👍🏃‍♀️

Well said. Getting stronger in one area sort of creates a knock on effect. After I did C25K, I was handling stuff at work that would’ve had me hiding in a cupboard before 😂....now I’m heading for my second Parkrun this Saturday and feel like I could lift mountains !! C25K is basically a miracle in my book

Oh wow!! 2nd park run?!

Awesome! Maybe I’ll see ya out there one time 😁

It’s an amazing app. So glad I finally got my butt in gear and started.

Good luck for your run in Saturday. Keep us all posted 💪🏼 x

Excellent news!

You must be feeling euphoric! I’m under the impression it’s will rather than skill, everyone can do it but doubt themselves in the process. I have my wk5 run 3 today. 👍🏻

Enjoy the high, long may it continue!

Well done! When you follow the plan it really works!! If you are struggling with breathing then read this, and look up Japanese slow running, I had to do that the other day because of a dodgy shoulder and the difference in my breathing was incredible! It really helps you concentrate on deep breathing and getting your diaphragm working.

Congratulations! Well done! Really enjoy this. I just completed mine the end of last week, then W6R1 yesterday. Really trying to channel the victory of W5R3 through to getting me through W6 and hopefully W6R3. Like you said, now that we have built up some strength and stamina, it is 90% in the head, well at least in my head. So keeping myself massively distracted is the best way. Ahead of my big run last week I actually sat down and spent over an hour properly sorting out my running playlist, dumping anything even marginally that dragged me down, invested in a few new albums and extra songs that really rev me up or that I can maniacally sing along to. It was those few songs that bounced me along when my brain was trying to talk me in to stopping. Well done you!
