Against all the advice I would get on here I decided to do my run 3 today even though I only did run 2 yesterday

I have a really busy weekend and I'm going away for a few days next week, so knew I wouldn't complete week 5 until end of next week. I didn't want to have a long wait knowing this run was my longest to date. I worried the big gap might mean I'd struggle when I knew I'd already struggle with it

So off I went at 7.30 this morning. It was already hot, no breeze, but off I set. 10 minute check in and the bell rings to tell me I'm half way through, wow so far 10 mins constant running, not bad for an old bird like me 🀣 15 minutes and I'm feeling it now, but no way with 5 minutes left am I walking. I just told myself the disappointment stopping would be far greater than the pain of carrying on

I did it!! A full 20 minutes

I know consecutive days isnt advised and I certainly wouldn't be in a rush to repeat that but with a forced week off, knowing as I return week 6 run 1 is broken up with walks again which I know I'm capable of

Probably all psychological, but for now I'm a happy girl 😁

Naughty Feltip ! You are having multiple rest days now, so we'll let you off this once. πŸ˜‰

Beware Week 6. It's harder than you might think.

Ha ha, thank you πŸ˜‰

Run 1 on week 6 is quite broken up with walking, is that luring me in to a false sense of security πŸ€”πŸ˜

Yes !

I knew you would do it πŸ˜¬πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘

BUT, naughty naughty, running on consecutive days !

But it's done and you can now have a few days rest before week 6.

So, I bet you are feeling happy with having run for 20 minutes 😬

Congratulations, you are probably smiling all day long now .

Well done you πŸ‘πŸ˜

You deserve to be a happy girl, well done on completing run 3 of week 5, that is a milestone run with C25K, onwards and upwards to week 6 run 1 but be careful about that run as it catches out some people with the interval walks and runs after the non stop 20 minutes of W5R3 which you have just ran πŸƒπŸΎ 😊

I'm assuming I'll manage it easily after 20 minutes non stop, but after a weeks leave I might not 🀣

So nawty lady!.... Make sure you take some good few days rest!

but

I’m beyond chuffed for you! πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘

You did it!

That is such a milestone run! Fantastic!

You’re on week 6!!!!

That is just amazing .. though I never had any doubts...

I remember how unsure you were when you got here.. but look at you flying high!

I called week 6 the biatch runs! They are so-able so don’t worry about that but I didn’t like the interval walks ..

anyway enough of that! A good few rest days for you but...

you’ve made my weekend let alone your own!

Woohoo! πŸ™Œ πŸ₯³

I am SO chuffed for you! I’ve so bought into your running journey πŸ’•

Cant believe I did it, it was hot too.

So pleased with myself. First trip to the hairdressers too today so fab day for me 😁

I'll enjoy the week off, be interesting to see how I cope with week 6 run 1, I hear mixed opinions about it and a weeks rest too

You lose no condition to note in the first two weeks of non running, whereas running consecutive days raises your injury risk considerably.

When you run, the impact creates microtears in your muscles, which repair and strengthen on your rest days, not while running. Without rest, repair and strengthening are compromised and injury risk increased.

It is up to you to make your choices.

W6R1 catches out more people than any other run in the programme.

Take care.

Thank you for the advice

I wouldn't have run 2 consecutive days without a reason, but I'm grateful for what you have said and will keep that in mind
