Wk6 R2 - looking fwd to R3

What a wet, miserable day. But, running is part of our lives now, so I got out there this morning, while my wife completed her run this afternoon.

Felt good until the last 5 minutes and then I really started to struggle. Funny how 1 x 20 minute run seemed easier than 2 x 10 minute runs with a break inbetween. But I dug deep and got it done.

Roll on run 3. I'm feeling ready for it.

Ha ha - I thought the same - how come it’s harder with a rest in the middle?? 🤣 well done for getting out in the rain . I think sometimes that’s the worst bit thinking about getting wet once you’re out it’s not a big deal 😁

It's so true. Once you're out, you're out, and when you're wet, it really doesnt matter anymore.

I think it's a break in the rhythm. You just get into the groove and then you have to get out of it again!

Well done though, only one more set of intervals for you! Glad snow got out there too! 😁

One more set of intervals and then no turning back.... scary!!!

You will love it, it's that moment to dive right in! The first 10 minutes are still crap though!!

At least I'm mentally prepared for those first few minutes though. When I started, I knew nothing about it and really struggled. At least once, I was so close to turning back. Of course, I'd never do that lol

I know what you mean. I am so glad I found this forum before I started, it has been a great boost and helped me no end! 🤗😁

So true. I've said before, me and the wife are really good at encouraging each other. We're a good team like that. But the help, advice and support on here has been a massive help to both of us.

That dreaded 10 is nice to know about - a time milestone !

Funny thing is, I noticed today that there are certain markers, e.g. a couple of lamp posts. Once I hit those, it's like a psychological barrier and I'm fine

You've done so well sticking to the programme. I've been running for nearly 12 months and I'm really struggling in this cold weather. I'm constantly freezing just being at home and it's took its toll on my regularity, I'm afraid, so we'll done to you both!!!

I hate being cold. But I must admit, once I get back after a run, the house feels like a furnace.

I cant start a run without gloves though. Once my hands are cold, they never warm up

Wk6 run 1+2 are a bit sneaky 😂 it's just preparation for the longer runs. But like you say you dug deep and you got the job done. Well done you 🤗

I think so too. I enjoyed run 3 of last week. This will be just a bit longer, but I think I can do it.

Hope you're doing ok. Bet you're missing running.

I have missed it this week, but off to Barcelona in the morning so a big distraction!

Nice. I'd love to go to Barcelona. One day.

Enjoy a well earned break and fingers crossed, when you get back, you can put your new trainers to some good use!
