After driving for 9.5hrs yesterday to get back to the home where I grew up the last thing I felt like doing this morning was putting on my running shoes. However I had raised over £200 in sponsorship for the RBL so off I went.
The ground was wet and muddy but the rain stopped and the atmosphere was amazing.
5km of hills, mud, lots of slipping and sliding and plenty of smiling faces as I made my way around the course. The final hill towards the finish line was REALLY tough but I kept my head up and my legs going to finish the course in just under 36 minutes. I had walked some of the uphills so was very pleased with that
My trail shoes are now drying out ready for me to clear off the mud for the next time I need them.

Congratulations on your 5K run today, I suppose trail shoes are better for running in those conditions than normal running shoes, they look a little like boots.
Thank you. To be fair I just didn't want to get my Brooks adrenaline covered in mud which is why my other half bought me a pair of trail shoes. They didn't really help too much with gripping the ground as it was just too muddy however I didn't mind them getting dirty which is the main thing
You have lovely black and orange shoes for trails, you have seen my blue running shoes Floss, I don't want them to be brown and muddy hence me jumping over puddles and trying to avoid mud.
