Can you run away from stress?πŸ€”

So, I had a super stressful week.....all sorts of things to sort out...and I'm working on good mental health so, I strapped on my shoes and off I went.....0.5km in....I'm positively flying down the path, I mean, I'm talking very nearly my actual sprint speed!😲

I'm thinking, 'what are you doing woman, there's no 4km happening at this speed lady!?'

And I began to feel amazing, tingly even, I actually think I had to run that fast today, fast enough to feel like I'd outrun the stress.....I guess I thought, 'oh well, it will be short and sweet today then'......and when I began to believe I simply couldn't go at that speed any more...well, I simply slowed to a jog to get my breath back, and I did finish my target 4km.....at a record time for me. Came back feeling like the strongest person in the world! So yeah, you can outrun your stress!...for a while anyway. Happy running friends, discovering that I can run has changed my life!!πŸ˜ŠπŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸ’–πŸ’ͺ

Well done Cakerunner ❀️

Think of your running as not running away from your stress but a way of clearing the last lot of stress from your mind and body in order to deal with it better the next time you face difficulties! Every breath out is releasing the old stress and every breath in is renewing and energising you! Take care xxx

Think of it more in the way of a distraction technique. Its CBT without the fees! 😁

Discovering running has changed my life too-in many, many ways. I run as a form of escape and do now really enjoy it πŸ™πŸ»
