Well done for completing Week 3, that's what I will be doing all being well on Saturday morning. I've never been a runner and am enjoying this process but I'm still struggling (mostly mentally I think) to accept that I can run for any length of time, the 3 minute sessions this week have been a revelation to me as I was struggling to do 60 seconds to start with. On my last run on Wednesday I finally (almost) forgot about how long it was and kept running until Laura told me to stop. What I've tried to do, as preparation for the following week, on my very final run of the week is to extend my final run towards, or if I can, to the full time of the longer run next week. That way, I can be happy that I've successfully completed my current week, and hopefully prepare myself for what's coming up, which builds up my confidence/reduces my trepidation for next weeks sessions.

I was similar struggling on first weeks runs but seem to have got my jogging legs. My goal is to complete a Park Run by end November. I am very slow but aim to do it in an hour

Another W3 runner does this, and I think I might try it tomorrow when I do R3 of W3.......try being the operative word!

We done, but I can only urge caution.

The plan is superbly structured to get you running for thirty minutes in about nine weeks, while keeping injury risk minimal...........if you run more, you will increase that injury risk. Most overuse injuries come without warning and can stop you in your tracks for days, weeks or months.

The plan works, why take any extra risks.

If you have extra energy you would be better advised to channel it into non impact strength training..........running is not just about legs.

Take care.
