Just been out with Mrs LeeU as she had week 7 run 1 to do, I tagged along cause I'm nice that way and a run is a run.
Mrs LeeU was the official time keeper as she had the app open and playing and I had my trusty Garmin.
The pace was slow which I didn't mind, if I got too far in front then I'd just circle back around and drop back 30 feet or so and catch up. We kept the slow steady pace through out the run, I did my best Duncan Norvell impression of "Chase me." to urge her onwards, which cause a bit of a giggle.
In the last minute Mrs LeeU did put a bit of a sprint on but then, not being competitive at all, so did I, its not a competition but I won.
Out again Saturday if it's not hailing it down.
Happy running everyone.

I too am a W7R1 runner, you sound like a Great motivational running partner!
Even if it’s hailing it down on Sat still get out & run don’t let the weather stop you when your this far on!
I find Rainy runs are great for the mind! 😁 embrace the weather make it a positive - less people will be out and about due to bad weather so that means more space on the paths for you 😂 enjoy 😁
I don’t have a weather proof jacket as such!! I just get out there & get wet then have a nice warm shower upon my return & I too am carrying more weight than I’d like!! But the positive is we are out there doing something 😁
It's a selfish interest really, once I get her past graduation we can work on her pace and distance and then I've got a running buddy when I'm at home.
I honestly think she decided to start when we were on holiday, I kept moaning that I hadn't run and then when she started the program she has managed to keep up the runs even when I've been away for work, we've have had discussions on how our respective runs have gone, hers in the morning and mine in the afternoon for instance.
Running with her started out a way of pacing myself outside, I've always run on a treadmill and had real trouble pacing myself, 1.5 miles in 18 minutes, at the time it was too much.
Today's run may have been a little slow for me but I'm not going to moan about it, a run is a run, I switched to Japanese slow running and stayed with her the best I could.
That sounds really great! Willow runs faster I can run further so if he needs a little walk in the middle I catch him up and other times i just speed up a bit to catch him up but if i’m getting puffed out i slow down again.Willow gets some knee pain so he goes off trying to stay with me and if he speeds up and his knee hurts he walks a bit, yes a run is a run, we have had runs where Willow turned and ran back to me when he got ahead and we have said that as long as we do our warm up walk together we can meet again at the end.
I love slow Japanese running and over time my legs go a bit faster without lengthening my stride so am faster than i was
Sounds like your runs are like ours, I'm looking forward to the time Mrs LeeU can do 5k, there is a lock on the canal which is, quite luckily, 1.5 miles from where we get on, the plan is once she graduates we're going to have no time run, the usual 5 minute warm up walk and then off we go, if we get to the lock and turn around, if we jog all the way then fine, if not we'll walk some.
I'm very proud of Mrs LeeU, she has asthma, arthritis and fibro and she's up to week 7 with only 8 runs left, her graduation present will be gait analysis and a new pair of running shoes of her choice.
Brilliant LeeU ..fab of you to run along and keep Mrs Leeu going, even giggling with some funny running! I can see theres no competitive streak in you at all!!! Good luck on your next outing
I do my best, she's helping me more than she admits to, I've never hidden the fact that I'm using her to help me pace myself.
Having done this program twice now, first time around the same time as you in 2017, I know I can put on a bit of a sprint for a couple of minutes if I want to (13-15 kph - not the fastest person out there I know) but we'll get her to the graduation line.
Just realised, I'm in the US when she's due to run her week 9 run 3, I'll see if she will put off her last run until the Sunday I fly back in, plane lands around 6:40 I think, home for around 9, I can then throw the running gear on and go out for a 30 minute run with her.
