Just completed week 3! Week 4 looks tough, any advise or experience of week 4 ?

I am not fit and this is my first attempt at running in my whole life, so far I am enjoying it so hoping I won’t be put off!

Stay positive! 😊 if you've managed week 3, you will manage week 4. Trust your body. You can do it! X

Well done, look how far you have come already.

Each run prepares you for the next one, so trust the plan and believe in yourself and of course, go slowly.

This might help healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

I am in same boat just about to start out on w4r1. Was timely post and good advice on replies. Good luck with your run!

You WILL do it! Don't fret about it. The programme is made for you to be able to get onto the next stage. By now, it's more of a mental challenge than anything else. And if you've enjoyed the runs so far, why even doubt that you won't enjoy the next ones? Take it slow and gently, always. Remember you should not feel out of breath... Enjoy yourself!

Hi Wocka81.

Same boat as you. I've never run before in my lu5fe. Just came back from my daunting W4R1 though. I did the same route as W1 but the other way round (to avoid uphill running). Found a new housing state so did one of my 5 min run through there so it felt more like having a nosey. I have also listened to slow music rather than my usual latin one. I found that helpful with my slow running rhythm. On previous weeks I kept speeding up and getting tired. Now I think it was my choice of music. Those few things worked for me. Now that dreaded run is in the bag.

Hope this helps. You can do it!!!

Week 4 run 1 is the one where you start to realise what's really going on...your body is changing, faster than you believed possible...and it keeps going.

Advice? Enjoy the ride!

All these comments are actually making me look forward to week 4. I’m only one run away from it and I was scared too!

I thought it was impossible but I just finished it. I say every week is impossible so I guess I'll just give week 5 a go. Keep.going never give up just repeat and finish

Great timing! I finished Week 3 yesterday and looked at w4 and thought wow! But if I’m honest w3 was a tiny bit disappointing and I felt like l could do more and didn’t seem to travel as far (I do the same route to judge how I’m improving) so boom! Let’s do this! We know we can and we will 😁

I found week 4 pretty tough first time I did it which is because it is too much of a step up from week 3. Week 3 is a total running time of 9 mins whereas week 4 is 16 mins - almost double. It would be better if week 4 was 12 mins then week at 15 mins is a better step up.
