I've spent 24 hrs making excuses for not doing today's route. All my demons in 1. Commuter traffic and high overgrown verges, hills, woods, gates, mud, dogs. Conquered them all by slowing down. I now know I can run from home and I can run for 40mins. Happy me

Great stuff, well done Grannytobe 😊
Being able to run from home makes things much easier!
Great you got out and ran Grannytobe. Even with your brain telling you not to. Bet you feel great now 😊😊
40 minutes that’s brilliant
Wow that’s fantastic, we are still going somewhere to run and i’m toying with the idea of just running out the door
I hope that's running out the door for a planned run not because life is hard and you're running away😉 it was great to start and finish on my doorstep
Since reading that we went for a quick whiz out the door and back, we didn’t have time for a proper warm up walk and went off too fast but it was fun, our problem is too many little roads so keep crossing and up and down curbs so will probably still go to the park with a track or along the beach. Never running away although running away from work would be wonderful some days
don't forget your warm up and cool down, they are still important
I walk 5-10 minutes to the place I want to run from then stop 5-10 minutes from home and walk back - those muscles really do need to be warmed up first (at least mine do)
Thanks backintime I did dynamic stretches at home, then walked up steep hill to main road. Did plenty stretches on return after. Before c25k when I had gym membership I'd go and quite happily do stretch and strength every time rather than any cardio so its the cardio part which is new to me. Always like lots of reminders and advice though thank you
I wasn't trying to teach Granny(to be) to suck eggs It just sounded like you were running right out the door and running right to your door
You have more faith in my ability to move from stationary than I warrant. Grannies get old and creaky and I often need to warm up just to get up from sitting so I don’t look like a bent old woman😉 far to almost 50 years skiing hard and furious play havoc to hips and knees. Thanks again for looking out for me and anyone else reading the posts will see the advice too so definitely required.
There will always be excuses just another obstacle to over come. Keep it going and good luck
