Completed W6

Well, it’s taken me about ten weeks to get to the end of W6 - holidays, illness, family issues, etc...but I’m here. 25 minutes run...very slowly. Went with my hubby and two dogs and, as we were going up a hilly road, I turned to find that my husband had started walking....and was keeping up with me. Haha! He hadn’t been walking long but just shows how slow I was going. I’m good with that, though...I have taken the advice from people on this forum about slowing down then slowing down a bit more. I paced myself to make sure that I had the reserves to complete 25 mins...and I did. Chuffed to little mint balls. Three consolidation runs in W7 coming up.

Well done! You're a proper runner now now matter how fast you're going! The last three weeks are fairly straightforward now that you've done a couple of longer runs. Just keep the same pace you're used to and before you know it, you'll be graduating!

It seems so weird to have even got to this point. I look back and can’t believe I was so done in on week one! There is such an improvement in my fitness but, of course, because I’m still pushing forward no run feels easy - I might go back and do W1 to see how easy it feels. I wonder if anyone has done that?

My running partners (hubby, sons, daughter - whoever’s free and willing (or can be guilted into it)) cannot believe how slow I go but I keep remembering the advice and it allows me to get through the full run. Thank you!

I can’t always believe how slow we go but when we speed up Willow lumps so we go slow, it’s time not speed

Congratulations on completing run 3 of week 6, know what, you are NOW officially a RUNNER, the three runs of week 7 are 25 minute runs, just take them the way you took run 3 of week 6.

I still feel far from being a runner - haha! Next run tomorrow. I hope it starts getting easier!

Chuffed to little mint balls for you too :)

Aside from W1R1 I found week 6 the hardest, so very well done.

Thank you! I’m looking forward to doing some running where my legs don’t feel that they’re going to snap in some way! I’m assuming consolidating the 25 mins will help with that. Fingers crossed!
