I’m really loving this running malarkey. I use it as a stress buster and it’s a time I can get to myself without anything interfering with it. It’s sacred! My husband has been so supportive and even pushed me out the door one time when all I had was excuses not to go. Big up the supportive friends/family and the people on this fantastic forum! Your support is what keeps me going!

The only thing I’m finding is that by the end of the runs my calves a burning like Nobody’s business!! My legs feel super heavy by the end of it, I’ve done minimal stretching, is it time to up it a bit dya think?

Gotta run 5 mins straight next week!! Cripes!!!! That’s a lot of stress busting!! 🤘🏼 😉

Great work. Time to stretch and maybe slow down a bit. Have a look at the strength and flex programme on here.

Brill thanks for your great reply grannytobe! I honestly think I couldn’t go slower so it must be the stretching!

Loads of help on the strength and flex forum. If you are not used to doing the exercises the podcast talks you through really clearly.

I find doing some stretches after getting back from my run really helps, while muscles are still warm. There is a some advice about stretching in the FAQs which I found really useful as I tend to get tight calves too.

Well done for completing week 3.

Great that you have such a supportive husband and with all the support you get on here you'll do really well.

Do you drink at least 2-3 litres of water per day , every day and stretching after EVERY single run. Well done you 😊

I probably don’t drink as much as that! I’ll be adding stretching to my routine! 😊 xx

I’m new to this, but find the warm up exercises and the after run stretches really help. And I do the stretches on non run days too. Links are in the main “How to” post.....

Loads of excellent advice here!

Stretching and hydration are key for me. Hope they can help your calves too 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️

Please read the guide to the plan healthunlocked.com/couchto5... it includes links to stretches which I always do after each and every run and also notes on hydration. Heavy legs are symptomatic of poor hydration........drink more, it is that simple.
