Dragging the chain and watching the rain and looking forward to the start of week 5 tomorrow.
Reflecting on my realities. How to maintain a level of independence, how to maintain your home, how to keep energised , stuff like that , when your body begins to tell you stuff that perhaps you may have to or is worth a listen.
This forum has been so helpful for me and to give myself this gift of running and support me to keep running.
Itβs a big deal alright, and the forum/community is a complimentary requirement of our running.A safe haven to come to for our uniquely different needs.
Must say as a social media π¦ and novice at first in my enthusiasm and inexperience I required some private advice and guidance.Probably still do.
I always use the THINK,caption.Is it True,Helpful,Inspiring,Necessary,Kind.
We need them all and in the light of EKβs achievement and wrist band , NO Human Is Limited.
Glad you are enjoying your runs on repeating C25K, I am sure you are enjoying it more than you did the first time, week 5, you won't be as nervous regarding run 3 as you were the first time you ran it. π ππΎ
Yes, Tbae, I am fine, this morning we have all been following FlickM3's progress at the Oxford Half Marathon, she has completed the run and everyone, you included have all congratulated her on her amazing achievement. π ππΎ
Great post! Our personal lives intertwine with our running lives. One affects the other. The joy of running is that it gives one time and space to reflect, to plan & even to grieve in all its different forms. The community here is empathetic to the present pain, the achievement & even to the personal reflections.
Most of us have to face difficult decisions at some point and life's realities can be cruel and random or uplifting and inspiring and so much of how we view the world is down to perspective.
We only get one go at life, in my humble opinion, so going with the positives, with a love of life, rather than racking up the negatives to overwhelm us with depression, is the only way to cope with it.
When I discovered this forum I was so impressed by the positivity borne out of so many individuals realising potentials that had been hidden for lifetimes. The supportive, non judgemental and inclusive nature of this place is a wonderful model which could transform the world, if it could be transferred into other areas of existence.
.........I am a dreamer, but I'm not the only one.
Wet Sunday, Patron Saint of Contemplation and Quality Thinking! Looking through my window from a south London hill and figuring out where to accommodate a 15k run. Apart from blistering heat and blue skies, wet and windy cool weather scenario is also one of my favourites. I learned a while ago that analysing and over thinking won't take me far when it comes to running so l accepted a simple motto - no such thing as bad weather, weather just 'is', and don't delay, just go! That keeps me energised and fresh, I'm fully aware that there will not be second chances and life is single and short, so let's amuse ourselves and burn some soles. (I think I'll run through the protests that are happening in central London at the moment. Nothing like a bit of edge to improve one's tempo) Happy running, Tbae!
In the end, 15k was a touristy route along the Thames, cutting through royal parks along the way and getting close and personal with protesters near parliament and towards Trafalgar sq via no10. Apparently, Ikea has better cabinets than the one inside number 10, according to some joyful youths who voiced their opinion before going home for a nice dinner. As expected, the excitement got better off me so l ran like a stallion possessed and finished 15k in exactly 90 minutes of solid pounding. I should go visit protests more often! πππ
They looked as if they believed it, l laughed when running. Life can be beautiful sometimes, little unexpected sketches and surprises make it all happen. All l had to do was to relax and let my legs carry my torso and observant head. π
