I have hated running for my whole life but keep being told stories about how great it is. I had also noticed that I was getting out of breath more easily so I thought running would be a good way to improve stamina and heart health.
I managed to do the runs exactly as the program wanted without too much trouble, but still found the last two bits challenging which was great.
Sadly I didn’t get the euphoric high other people describe after running - I just felt a bit grumpy and tired and sweaty! I assume it gets better. I’m committed to completing it even if it doesn’t though.
Unfortunately my thighs rubbed a lot while running (the problem with fatter legs I guess) which is now quite sore - any tips for how to avoid this in future?
Thanks, ABB

Well done for getting started!!! That’s the hardest bit! You can buy anti chafing pants. M&S do them & probably elsewhere. Just happened to see them there recently.
I didn’t get the euphoria until the full runs in the end weeks but found a special happiness in completing each run. Keep your pace very slow! It’s better for breathing & kinder to your body. Google Japanese slow running
Best advice I was given.
👍👏😊 So pleased you have begun this journey. Hope it brings you as much joy as it has me! Welcome 👋
Unlikely to experience the high until you are running further, but you will have the high of having got out there and completed your runs! A great feeling, well done
And OldFloss, the article was a winner and has helped a lot, thank you. I will let you know how things progress, but wonderful to be so welcomed and encouraged here.
