Week one failure

Week one.

Well at 43 and recovering from a concussion. Very unfit. I decided to try this. I only managed one minute of running. I think I need to do the pre cough course.

Each day I will do a little and hope to get to the point that I can do more. At the moment, I got off the couch , step one. Introduced myself to the treadmill. Hope to complete week 1 sometime in next 4 weeks. Taking it easy.

Hmm... how's that concussion coming along? Are you definitely recovered rather than still recovering?

The classic mistake is to go faster than you need to and faster than you can sustain... and that's perilously easy on a treadmill. Do you have the option to run outdoors as it is so much easier to adapt your pace?

(Week 1 took me 6+ weeks, the rest was way smoother!)

Yes, two years I stayed home. When I was hurt could not leave house. Lost ability to speak and read. It all came back slowly. Still have issues with memory. I am careful not to overdo it.

Just took a job abroad, as I get a lot of support. Boss is amazing. It is hot here though. So have to excercise on a treadmill.

Hello peskymousie1! Welcome, and well done on making a start 👏👏👏

There’s a saying on here that the only run you fail is the one you don’t even attempt.

Sounds like you have a sensible plan - well done for taking it easy and going at the pace that is right for you.

Hope you are now recovering well. Before I started c25k I practised brisk walking then once I could brisk walk for 30-40 minutes I moved on to c25k. I wonder if this would be of any use to you. Good luck 😊😊

Today,I went to the gym. Basic walking, for twenty minutes. Ran for one minute, times 2. Then 5 min on a bike, and 5 min of steeper, before ten min on treadmill to cool down
