Week 1 done

Really thrilled to have completed week 1. Have been on the treadmill with no incline as working with the physio on weak hamstrings. I walk at 4mph (have always walked the dog at a brisk pace) and run at 6 but wondering if I might be going too fast although I felt comfortable this week. Concentrating also on the warm down stretches. Here’s to week 2 😊

The key to getting to the end of this plan is slow down, even if you feel ok at the beginning as the run parts get longer you risk injury by going faster, a lot though depends on things like age fitness etc. i found i had to go really slow or my breathing couldn’t keep up

Well done for completing week 1 you will get lots of advice and encouragement here

Enjoy your journey to fitness and running for half an hour

Welcome to the forum and well done on getting started.

This guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5... and includes advice on pacing.

If you can speak clear ungasping sentences as you run, then the pace is okay.

Enjoy your journey.
