This little training plan changes lives.........be prepared.

You will get lots of encouragement on here honestly i couldn't have done it without them all . By posting and reading other people's posts it really does help. It's about keeping your runs slow which in turn helps with your breathing. Also 2-3 litres of water per day and not just on run days.
C25k is an amazing plan and really does work you'll get lots of encouragement and support on here good luck 😊😊
Thanks for the advice! I cycle 45-65 miles per week to work & back! I tried going for a run about 18 months ago when I had both bikes in for maintenance! I ran 3 mile and couldn’t even walk up stairs after! It put me off, I think! But want to give it a go. The training plan on the app looks good.
That's the great thing about c25k it's a gradual build up of fitness and stamina. That's some mileage on your bike. My dad who is 63 has cycled for many years and still does to and from work. 😊
I made the same error years ago! I'm mostly an ex-cyclist these days as a movie of house has made the commute more challenging, pushing a 15-20 minutes each way to 1 hour each way!
You've got the engine for running, just slow down a bit, follow the programme, and you will become a runner too!

I have been a cyclist since I was 7, only a runner for now about 18 months, I do think cycling helps in your running, but only to a certain extent, you paid by going that 3 mile run, that's nearly 5K without any training to run, that's what C25K is all about, gradually getting you to that distance, no person can just go out and run 3 miles like you did unless they have had taken part in a training plan like what this course is.
Try to stick to the program and don’t overdo it. You’ve probably already got excellent cardiovascular health, but running uses totally different muscles to cycling and you really don’t want to injure yourself.
Hills never get any easier on the bike! But i recover quickly! I work away a bit, so going to have to run whilst I’m away after work! Once I get into it I know I’ll love it! Like cycling, the worst part is getting the gear on, especially when it’s cold & wet! But 5 mins in and I love it! Best part of the day, my ride to work & back!
I hope you enjoy the plan as much as I do... I am no longer up North but will be doing a parkrun there when I visit family on the 2nd November good luck!
