W8R1. Much easier than W7

After finding All 3 runs of week 7 a real struggle for the last 5 minutes, I was dreading starting week 8 🥴 Last night after a long day at work It was raining and windy so I suggested we gave it a miss till today (any excuse because I thought it was going to be harder again). My fiancé (who has helped me through this program from day 1) wouldn’t hear of it and said. “No, We are going no matter what the weather, we can do this 💪” I dragged myself to the park, did my warm ups and started on my 5 mins warm up then 28 min run. Oh wow!!! My fitness has improved so much after the struggles of W7. I managed to do the whole run without struggling or without my fiancé having to encourage me “not to give up, not long left, keep going we’re almost there”. I finally feel like I’ve turned that corner, and actually looking forward to our next run tomorrow! 🏃‍♀️💪🏃‍♀️💪

I did Wk8 run 1 last night as well! I found it easier than week 7, but I’m still slow jogging, and my brisk walk is quicker! Good luck for tomorrow, I should be running then too, but have a meeting after work, so might postpone till Thursday.

Hi elfinella, it’s surprising how much fitter you feel after a difficult W7 isn’t it. I too am keeping a steady pace. I think I was going a little too fast maybe in W7. Ive slowed it down to around 7min/km. I’ve read on here it’s not about speed, it’s about completing without stopping. Well done on your previous runs and good luck on R2
