Mondays run

Following on from Saturdays outdoor run and the plan to run on the treadmill today, I did just that and realised a few things.

There were a lot of gremlins this morning, why are you wasting your time running on a treadmill, get outside! Any many more like that.

As much as I wanted to run outside I decided to stick to the plan of running outside one day a week to start with, increasing the time running each time.

I realised while I was plodding away, the reason why my pace is soo much quicker outside is that my strides are longer! When on the treadmill I seem to be defaulting to what is essentially the Japanese slow jog technique with a shorter stride. I played with stride length a little and it put my pace back up quite a bit.

Mondays run complete, 30 minutes and 2.3 miles, not sure I like the longer stride on the treadmill, I sound like an elephant.

Happy running everyone.

The first treadmill I bought was, I don't exactly know why I bought it, it was on eBay and I paid £61.11 for it.

I'm on my third one now and wouldn't be without one now, they've given me soo much, just like this forum.

You are better to stick to shorter strides as stretching out too much could cause injury. Just keep doing what you are. Well done you 😊😊

I plan to limit my pace on Saturday, if that means shortening my stride then so be it, I'll work my way up to full pace in time, I'm in no rush.
