Foot pain - any ideas?

Morning, I was due to do week 6, run 2 this morning. I may well still do it but it will be this evening because a) i drank too much wine while watching the over-two hour light entertainment bonanza that is the first week of Strictly and not really having enough water with it and b) I have an ache in my left foot across the instep. When I get up in the morning I have to climb downstairs like an old lady (I'm 63 so would'nt expect to need a stairlift yet), two steps on each stair rather than just skipping down them like i used to. The pain eases off during the day.

I swam yesterday (only 20 minutes) and walked and it was not too bad but it is getting on my wick, keep waking up with the pain. I have not taken any paracetomol, maybe that will help? Any tips would be welcome.Otherwise I will have to change my user name from Akallover to Akeinthefoot

Hi Akeallover, just wondering whether you may be suffering from Plantus Fasciitius, nip in to your local surgery and see one of the nurses. I hadn't even taken my sock off before I was diagnosed with it. Fortunately I no longer suffer from it and I am very careful in what I choose for my footwear.

thank you; i used to suffer from that when I ran 20 odd years ago but was more in the heel of my foot, like I had a permanent stone in my shoe but I will pop into surgery for advice
