Recently experiencing a case of sore butt muscles after a run....distance is immaterial but it starts off on the run as a feeling of βlooseβ buttock muscles (π€π) but the eases off, only to reappear after my cool-down and plenty of gentle stretching of legs etc....
It is centred as a sore ache in the middle of each buttock cheek....not pain more soreness but despite doing the various piriformis stretches and glute stretches it is still annoyingly there....π€π€π€
Anyone experienced this and any suggestions/simple links to have a go at....have suspended running at the moment and just settling for walking as I donβt really want to worsen it..
Many thanks/Peter

Itβs just a new muscle group getting a good workout ποΈββοΈ. I used to get that too. It disappears as you get stronger and fitter. Squats will help. Damien
Squats, clams, figure 4 stretches of all types (standing, sitting, crunches). Sit with your knees up on the floor and balance on the offending muscle to help ease it.
Thank you......I have been doing the above and using a foam roller, guess I will just need to keep at it, puzzling as I have been running regular 5K then it just flared up after a 2k shuffle....guess it needs time....π€
