Thoughts on Running after tight Achilles
My only purely running injury was a tweaked Achilles (not a medical term) and it kept me from running for about a month.
Eccentric heel drops, at least a couple of times per day, worked a treat along with regular calf stretching, certainly after every single run.
When you start up again make sure you don't overstride, so keep footfall under your body, not out in front. Ease back on pace and enjoy nice slow runs.
Take care.
Where best to start back on the plan I last run on week6 run 1 thought of walking first then see how it feels been using you tube the bob and brad video the pinch and massage the last two days and helping a lot
You don't lose any significant condition in the first two weeks of non running, as stated in the guide to the plan.
I hope you are back out soon. You could always make your first run just a try and see rather than setting out to do a particular run in the plan, then if you feel any niggles you can stop without feeling you didnβt manage the distance.
Iβm doing those pinch massages as well and they are helping I think, but mine is still very sore. Iβm probably going to leave it for another week or two, and then start again. You could try an earlier run and see how you go on, and if ok CAREY on as normal. Good luck π
Yes my got a little bit of pain so I think I will leave it until the middle of the week and week 1run 3 and then see fingers crossed never thought I would run and miss it so much
Good idea, and I know what you mean, I miss it too π
Fear factor what if I run to soon and the pain comes back then it set me back again for another two weeks or more if it doesnβt feel ok I not going to πββοΈπββοΈπββοΈπββοΈπββοΈπββοΈπ
