Failed run

W9R2 the first time I’ve failed to complete a run ☹️ feels awful. I was just struggling, breathing rubbish, no energy, wheezing. So after about 15 mins I gave up. I hate the fact that I just couldn’t keep going ☹️

Well done you got out there and gave it a go and hopefully you can learn something from it.

Many say there is no rhyme nor reason behind a bad run.

I beg to differ.

Have a look at your preparation. Were you well rested, fully hydrated and appropriately fuelled?

Have you had a hard week?

Are you coming down with a bug?

Did you change your route?

We're you bored with your route?

I could go on, the list is endless, although the three variables in my first question are the most significant in my opinion.

Maybe you cannot pin down contributory factors, in which case write it off as a freak bad run, have a rest day, prepare as well as you can for the next one, relax and just head out nice and easy and enjoy it.

Thank you. I have had a stressful week, and I probably haven’t eaten as well as I normally do. Will try to put it behind me and try again in a couple days.

We all have bad days, keep that chin up. That run wasn’t your run, next one will be 💪

Dont beat yourself up... Just recover, hydrate and try again, in a day or so... You will get there.. Dont forget a few weeks ago u would have never think that youbwould run for 15 minutes... Enjoy the sunshine😀☀️

As is always said a fail would not be going out the door. As you said you struggled with a lot of things today you could be coming in for a virus or something. Have a rest day and if you're feeling better try again. Good luck 😊😊

I agree with everyone on here and just wanted to add my support. You can't help being under the weather and your body is telling you something.

It happens C. A few times in a run, almost right away or a good bit into it, the "motivation" just seems to vanish. First time I struggled on for a bit but nowadays I just call it a "blah day" and stop. It's quite disturbing the first time - you wonder if you really CAN'T run lol - but the more you do go out the more you learn and become confident of your ability. So, next time it happens to me it'll just be a case of "Sod this for a game of soldiers" and basically figure, like Iannoda says, "something needs to be tweaked before next run" :)

Wishing you many happy miles in your future :)
