Back from w7 r3 which I actually quite enjoyed πŸ˜€

Wondering whether I have done some damage to my dodgy right knee though 😬 It’s feeling tender and a bit painful in a way it hasn’t thus far. I usually have sun and mon as rest days, so hopefully that will help...

Also felt some ankle pain on my left side today. It was almost like my foot was rolling inwards, though my gait analysis showed neutral pronation. Is it possible for one’s gait to change in the space of 4 weeks?

I don't claim to be an expert so I'd def speak to one of them if your pain continues! But sometimes you might be slightly adjusting the way you run or even walk due to the pain in your right knee, which in turn can cause pain in your left? Maybe without even realising it. I play netball (hello, ankle/knee injuries!!) so have experienced this in the past.

Hopefully a few days rest and you will be back to normal!... πŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸƒβ€β™€οΈ

Thanks Parky. Yes, I could well be doing some compensating without realising it. Seeing the physio (for my shoulder πŸ™„ body is a bit of a wreck!!) a week on Monday so will get her advice on knees and ankles too.

We're you running more hills?

Do all you can to minimise impact......slow down, run on grass or treadmill, do not overstride, keep footfall under your body, not out in front and avoid heelstriking.

I think it is highly unlikely that your gait has changed in four weeks.

Rest up and see how it goes.

Thanks, all very helpful. I went slightly faster today according to Strava (not intentionally, just running at what felt a comfortable pace).

Same surfaces as usual, and definitely no more hills than usual πŸ˜‚

Maybe I need to pay more attention to how and where my feet are striking, and adjust if need be.

Couple of days rest, then hopefully week 8 on tues...
