It took a week and a half...I am trying to convert from treadmill to outside, which was always going to take some extra work. I finally got my gait analysis done on Friday and have over pronation which is severe on my left foot...which explains some of the injury issues. New shoes and insoles made a huge difference today. Moral of the story...check your gait sooner rather than later...coming for you W8!
W7 finally done...now gait sorted: It took a... - Couch to 5K
W7 finally done...now gait sorted
Thatβs great news! You will reach the grad badge soon. Happy to hear youβve sorted a problem with your gait. Happy runningπ
whats it like running outside i have yet to try it as i have done all mine on tredmill am on w7r1
I find the treadmill quite boring, I can't concentrate on watching something on the iPad so listen to music which helps. I love being out in the fresh air and watching the scenery go by...the runs seem shorter. I run through a local 'nature reserve' ie wilderness so the downside has been the effect of the uneven ground given my gait issues. Hopefully the new shoes will offset this. I will do a mixture in/outside until the stamina improves. Then hopefully mostly outside...unless it rains!
Itβs amazing how much less painful running is after a gait analysis and getting proper support in shoes! I honestly believed the pain I was in was just the price of running. Pain free for two weeks nowπ well done making the transition π happy πββοΈ
Welcome to the great outdoors and well done.
Well done. I couldn't really afford gait analysis but because I wear othortics and have flat feet with planter fasciitis I had enough knowledge to buy some cheaper Karimoor trainers which have proved to be really comfortable and taken away any painful feet and knee joints. I really want to have gait analysis, I constantly hear good things about it so maybe I'll give myself a nice Christmas present in the way of gait analysis π
