Making it feel better than it was....

I don't know what was different about this run, but it was tough 🥵

It was much warmer than recently (17°C)

Very windy.

I kept going, but when I stopped I was not feeling good at all, bit wobbly legged, dizzy. I actually felt like I needed to lie down ( not a possibility!).

I made do with sitting on a metal fence by the motorway road bridge, almost in a hedge.

So the positive?..... A group of cyclists stopped to see if I was okay, now I could choose to find that embarrassing, but I am choosing to see it as a reinforcement that the world is not entirely the terrible place that we are recently reading about, and that good people are still out there. I assured them that I was okay, and they carried on.

Home now, restored after sugared wine gums and coffee 😊

I hope all today's runners have a good one ( and cyclists too🚴‍♂️🚴‍♂️🚴‍♂️)

Glad you're ok. There are some good people out there !

There are, and generally I get annoyed with cyclists (when they inch alongside me at traffic lights !) So happy to put them in a good guy role 😊

I’m also glad you’re ok and recovering! I had a pretty disastrous run myself yesterday, so can totally relate 🤣

Wind is definitely something to factor in... I ran on a country lane, very strong winds, dust flying from the fields, got sent into a ditch 4 times by passing harvester monsters. Gasping for breath.

Hope you recover nicely, and good luck!

Thank you, I think it was the heat that did it, it was overcast, so it tricked me!, I am looking forward to single digit temps 🤣

Great to hear cyclists stopped to help you😀. Hope you feel recovered now & enjoying your weekend. 🌷

Thank you😊 I feel okay, maybe I hadn't slept well either, all these little factors add up.

Glad to hear you're home and safe!

I encounter lots of cyclists on my runs, as I run out on the hills where part of the Tour de France took place on its Sheffield leg a few years ago. The cyclists always seem to be very considerate and shout encouragement or ask if I'm OK when I'm looking like a flapping fish out of water 🐠💦

Take care and enjoy the rest of your weekend xx

Thank you, I don't usually see more than 2 or 3, certainly not together, but I was touched by the concern. 😊

Have you had enough water sometimes it's easy to forget you still need those 2-3 litres every day . Glad your ok and yes there are a lot of great people out there. Well done you 😊

Thank you Buddy, I think I drank enough yesterday, but maybe it still wasn't enough.

My last few runs had been much cooler, perhaps I should have just done a shorter run today, given the heat, I think I pushed too far today.

Oh how wonderful Jell. You’re so right, the world does have some truly horrible stuff going on at the moment, but there are still kind human beings out there. ❤️

So glad you’re feeling better. Some runs just do that to us. You’ll more than likely have a fabulous one next time out. 🤞👍

😊, hope so cheeky, I do know it will be a dark one, so head torch is out, new batteries purchased, winter is nipping at the edges🤗

Yes there’s definitely a nip in the air first thing now. Enjoy your dark run - I’ve personally never done one. 🏃‍♀️

That’s a brilliant post. I love the quote, and the reinforcement that there are lots of good kind people around ❤️

Maybe you’re fighting off a bug?

Thank you Jazzy! I expect I just pushed too hard, certainly I don't usually have to sit down after a run, but who knows, the next one will confirm!

Yes there are great people around, but recently it doesn't read that way.😐

I know, it’s easy to despair, and easy to get distressed. So it’s good to be reminded sometimes that still all over the place are good-hearted people, and I must say the running community seems full of them ❤️

There as so many more lovely people out there than we think nowadays. 👍🏻😁

Glad you were ok and got home safely 👍🏻

True, there are, and re getting home, yes that was fine, but reinforced the fact that I must always have my phone with me (which I do) regardless of what tech is available!😊

It happens! And how useful or appropriate is pride in these scenarios - not at all! Glad to hear your cycling guardians and exercise partners checked on you and that you are ok 🙂

Oh definitely not embarrassing; asking or receiving for help. You’d do the in a blink of an eye I’m sure if i was in the same situation. Hope you feel a bit better today. I get dizzy spells too when running, probably something with all the oxygen received, not sure but anyway hope you are better now x

I'm okay today thank you CP2, I had my first dark run of the Autumn and was excited to try out a pale grey long sleeved running top that I bought in a Decathlon that I discovered not too far from where I work. Now that could be a very bad thing🤣🤣🤣

Oh no,you too! My mum reminded me that I work near a massive decathlon... we are doomed!! Exciting about the new too. I’ve not actually run in the dark yet...
