Hi , I have been off the running for weeks with SI pain in my bum and leg . Osteopath helped.I tried a little wk 4 run a few times but i end up sore in my bum /leg. Shall i rest for two days and try again ? Shall i change something i'm doing wrong ? I really don't want to stop running ; it keeps me sane !

Sorry about your injuries 51firstrun, as far as running, no, it would be better if you went for longer walks first, or other exercises then go back to perhaps week two of C25K, if you ran now, it will prolong your injury, I hope you will get back to running as soon as possible, but by the discription of your injury, not just yet.

Oh that is a shame . But if i need to walk more in order to get pain free before i try wk 2 . Then that's what i will do . Thanks for the advice .

Seek professional advice from your osteopath regarding any runs, walks or other exercises to be on the safe side.

What did your osteopath advise? Or what did they say was the cause of your pain?

Are you wearing properly fitted shoes?🤔

Maybe ask osteo about possible strengthening with yoga? Either way, I hope you can continue in time 👍🏻

Even though you've had osteopathic treatment I would suggest deep tissue massage too. They can really work in the joint and surrounding tissues which should help.

My sacroilliac nerve was damaged during childbirth...22 years ago

I couldnt walk for,a week.

The doctor said the only treatment was rest.

It worked.....I get the occasional ache but nothing debilitating like it was.

I wouldnt run until fully recovered ....hopefully will be as quick as mine was.
