Hi
I’m really enjoying the couch to 5k. This week I started wk5, run 1 went ok, noticed run 2 increases to 8 min runs, but run 3 is 20 mins. This seems quite a jump, anyone else think this or am I being daft🤦🏼♀️

Enjoy your journey.
This is probably one of the most asked questions on here but just trust the plan! I asked it myself when I saw that and didn’t think I could do it, but you can!
Yup, I checked it twice, too! It IS tough, but I felt it was just psychologically. You are prepared and CAN do it. Next week starts off gentler, I was dreading it but a nice surprise.
If you just think that the brisk walks are also cardio exercise, it’s not so daunting to just carry on running. It’s a mental challenge more than a physical one. Once you’ve done the 20 mins you’ll have a massive sense of achievement and it’s not such a reach to add the few minutes on each time for the rest of the plan. If you’ve got this far you’re doing amazingly!
Really don't worry. All the runs up until now have prepared you for it. You can do this 😊
As everyone has said, the only hurdle is psychological - the plan up to now has prepared you for this physically. I honestly thought I wouldn’t be able to do it, but it was actually fine. It was hard and I was glad to finish, but it was doable! Take it as slow as you need to.
Thanks everyone for the support, even looking forward to tomorrow mornings run now!
I've just completed the last run of this week and honestly you can do it! I actually found it to be one of the easier runs of the week, I think because it's easier to notice that you're out of breath when you stop. It's also easier to just let go and let your mind wonder when you're not anticipating the end so much. You are absolutely fit enough, it's just a psychological barrier, but that's what makes it such an amazing feeling once you've completed it.
