Just did wk5 run 2 . Manged the first 8 min. Really struggled with the next 8 min. Only managed first 2 min. Had to walk for 1.30 min then carried on run to the end . Going to have to repeat this run . 2 months ago i could only run for 1 min so must be doing some thing right

Well done you for finishing the run!

The main is that you didn't give up and carried off after a breather, you managed the first 8 mins so you know you can do it :)

Good luck for next time!

premature submitting...sorry! ...what i was about to say was: I do think this week is more testing psychologically than in previous weeks. I found the second eight minute run really tough, but then CHOSE to run for a further 3 minutes after the podcast had finished, just to prove a point to myself. I found it helped to think of what people on here would say to me!! You can do it...keep the faith!

My husband is highly amused by the whole thing. (He was a runner at school but can't do it any more because of cartilage problems. My theory is that people who are too sporty in their youth use up their lifetimes allocation of cartilage.) He said the other day that if I really turn into a runner, he might need to go into therapy. The line "who are you and what have you done with my wife ?" has already been uttered. I did week 3 on holiday in Rome. He came with me and walked briskly - I pulled ahead in the running bits, then turned round and walked back to him in the walking bits... He was of course under strict instructions not to look at me while I was running. He did try to jog beside me a bit, but had to stop because he could feel it doing his knees no good.
