There goes another 5K. I can a absolutely do this without walking but finding the last quarter a struggle - feels like I'm running out of strength. Any comments?π€ͺπ€ͺπ€ͺπββοΈπββοΈπββοΈπ΄

It's great you're getting the distance, well done! Perhaps you can use your non running days to add some more strength exercises like the ones recommended in the Guide to C25K? And how well hydrated/fed are you before you run? I know I started to feel better when I took IannodaTruffe's tip of a drink and banana before a run. I have about half a pint of water and half a banana, then finish the other half when I get back, along with the rest of my breakfast/lunch etc because I'm starving by then π
Only that youβre doing brilliantly, running 5k without walking! ππ»ππ»ππ»
Thank you. Suspect I should cut myself a bit of slack and be a bit more patient.
Yep. Patience grasshopper! Give your body a bit more time, before you know it it will feel easier and easier... ππ»π
I found that even though I can run 5k I'm not really that bothered on the actual distance I can run any more, I'm more bothered about the amount of time I can go on for.
I'm not the fastest person in the world, I can currently do 5k in about 45-46 minutes comfortably but I'm aiming for the 60 minute jog, then I'll probably look at increasing speed, etc.
Don't get me wrong, my aim in the mid-term is to do a sub 40 minute 5k but I know I'll get there by increasing my slow runs and increasing my overall fitness and stamina.
Maybe you should do 1 long slow run a week, increase the distance by no more than 10% each time, you'll be surprise how much it helps.
You are a very, very new runner.
Have patience.
Make sure that you are running at least 75% of your time at an easy conversational pace, to build stamina, only pushing for the remainder.
