There goes another 5K. I can a absolutely do this without walking but finding the last quarter a struggle - feels like I'm running out of strength. Any comments?🤪🤪🤪🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️😴

It's great you're getting the distance, well done! Perhaps you can use your non running days to add some more strength exercises like the ones recommended in the Guide to C25K? And how well hydrated/fed are you before you run? I know I started to feel better when I took IannodaTruffe's tip of a drink and banana before a run. I have about half a pint of water and half a banana, then finish the other half when I get back, along with the rest of my breakfast/lunch etc because I'm starving by then 😀

I always run in the morning and must admit most of the time I don't eat before I run as I tried it once (actually a banana about an hour before) and I felt rather sick. I do hydrate though. Have tried gel (ugh!). I guess I must do a bit of research as you suggested. Thanks.

Only that you’re doing brilliantly, running 5k without walking! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Thank you. Suspect I should cut myself a bit of slack and be a bit more patient.

Yep. Patience grasshopper! Give your body a bit more time, before you know it it will feel easier and easier... 👍🏻😉

Thank you, yes, a bit more snail I think. I was a sprinter in an earlier life so naturally impatient!!!

Haha we unsporty people have an advantage there - anything I can do seems amazing! 🤣

I found that even though I can run 5k I'm not really that bothered on the actual distance I can run any more, I'm more bothered about the amount of time I can go on for.

I'm not the fastest person in the world, I can currently do 5k in about 45-46 minutes comfortably but I'm aiming for the 60 minute jog, then I'll probably look at increasing speed, etc.

Don't get me wrong, my aim in the mid-term is to do a sub 40 minute 5k but I know I'll get there by increasing my slow runs and increasing my overall fitness and stamina.

Maybe you should do 1 long slow run a week, increase the distance by no more than 10% each time, you'll be surprise how much it helps.

Wow, ok thanks for that. X

You are a very, very new runner.

Have patience.

Make sure that you are running at least 75% of your time at an easy conversational pace, to build stamina, only pushing for the remainder.

More 🐌 less 🐆😉 next run will be slower, but I do find it hard to run slower - turns a jog to a plod, or so it feels. I will do it non the less.

Thank you.
