Ok ... so new to this forum . Hi everyone. Today was W3 R1. I was dreading it! 3 mins is a decent step-up. But the bank holiday helped. No work and able to get to the park at 8.30 before the sun does it's best. I suffered bad shin splints after the last run but advice from my hair dresser .... thanks kath. For cold and anti inflammatories seems to have done the trick. It was hard but I did it!!. Not sure how I'm managing to put weight on though lol.

Great on getting to wk3. When you're running try to land lightly and not thud thud, this and proper running shoes should help. You say you're putting on weight are you eating more because you are running. Good luck 😊😊

Welcome to the forum and well done on your progress.

This guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5... and includes advice on pacing, minimising impact and stretching after every run, which will all help to avoid shinsplints.

Enjoy your journey.

Thanks all tips and advice gratefully received at 53 I'd like to think it's never to late to take on a challenge.
