Hello runners:)

Here we are again another week gone and still so changeable with the weather πŸ˜€.

At the moment certainly here, it is hot, hot hot!!!

So many of us running now and doing the most amazing things... This is a great pace to share your thoughts and your running plans with each other:)

I am running three times a week now and slowly getting back to..errr... speed ( ha ha )!

The number of folk on the forum is still increasing... we can hardly keep track! It s tricky to keep up with everyone's progress... it is great to have a little fun post, so we can see who is on which week of the programme, and hopefully it will help everyone to feel more included on the forum.

I apologise if I miss posts or replies, as there really are a lot of us!

We can support, encourage and generally help each other, in a positive and friendly way, with no thought of comparison.

Please remember it doesn't matter if you stay on the same week for a while, that is fine; it is a journey and it really doesn't matter how long it takes, it will be so worth it when you get to the final run.

If you have just Graduated, also, this will be a great place to keep you motivated,and there is a new Quest on here, every month too...please do take a look and join in!

One of the best things about this weekly chat is that you can TALK to each other, support and encourage each other and find folk on the same week or run as you.

So, please do come and join the fun...slip off your running shoes, and just let us know how it is going :)

Yesterday I did my 5K in 43 minutes, although I was slow I really enjoyed that and I am chuffed to know that I can do longer runs and for a longer time. And I struggled the C25K first run in May!!! Maybe I can do 10K one day? 😊

You are doing wonderfully, and yes, there is so much support here, and on Bridge to 10K that you certainly can do 10K... :)

Hello , glad your running is going great.

I'm still running 3x per week also and I really enjoy it. Did my first parkrun on Saturday and it was brilliant, so strange as I've always ran on my own. I'm going to do one every fortnight. 😊😊

That is great... I need to check your park run post out? I am a lone runner too, but the odd Park run and the occasional race is always fun.. I am a tad worried about my run next week as there will be over 1000 runners!

Keep going with those 3 x a week ..it pays dividends! :)

Just finished week 3. Found the last run of the week toughest, but finished it so still gonna give week 4 a go tomorrow πŸ™‚ Tell me though- at what point am I supposed to start enjoying it?... πŸ˜‚

Running three times a week now since graduation and cannot imagine life without running. Second ParkRun done and really enjoying it. Not very fast but I’m doing it and that means a lot. Off to Devon in a weeks time and already planning runs when I’m there including ParkRun on the Saturday. Who am I??? Very grateful to everyone on this forum for their support and wisdom and especially you guys who administrate the process. Happy Bank Holiday all πŸƒπŸ»β€β™€οΈπŸ’•πŸƒπŸ»β€β™€οΈ

Suggest you download the official Parkrun app (if you haven’t all ready!) and it has amongst other goodies, an interactive map so you can identify other Parkruns around the UK....we’re looking to do some Parkrun Tourism once we get used galloping around Pontefract Racecourse!!

Just brilliant! Im graduating this week and doing my first Park run on Saturday. I’m slow too, but if I can run for 30 mins three times a week, and do an occasional Park run I will be proud of myself.I’m nearly 60, decided its time to start looking after my body.

I feel the same. I want to be fitter as I go into my sixties than I’ve been for many a decade!!! My goal at the mo is a 10k in June next year.

Just finished Week 8 today and staying Week 9 on Thursday 😁

Managed to run 2.77 miles in 28 mins! That a PB for me πŸ˜…

I have been running down a long shallow slope to the next village, then running back at just above sea level and surprising myself by how far up the steep hill to home, that I now get, before walking the last few minutes.

It was pointed out to me that I might increase my endurance more, by reversing that and running home up the long but shallow slope. It seems to work. It’s more satisfying to get back without walking, even if it still the same elevation.

It is amazing how much more I saw too going the wrong way round. Flowers off to one side before, now come easily into view.

This week has been a complete change of routes for my three runs for this weeks quest. A new route each time and it may still be August, but there was a woodsmoke scent in the air the other morning and a squirrel crossed my path with a nut. One weeks quest to go. Disappointed to have missed one of the three runs in one August week. Next months quest will be to include some strength and flex exercises as well as three runs per week. Keep up the good work.

Great stuff... new routes.. even just reversed.. can work wonders... and that unmistakable tang of Autumn. just hanging around the back door waiting for Summer to leave :)

Did Wk4 R1 yesterday but on the treadmill at my local gym as it was too hot to run when I had time to do it! so at least the air con helped, but it is sooo boring on a treadmill! I found it harder than on my local town trail. So looking forward to my 6.45am run tomorrow when it will be cooler.

I've just started week 5 and I'm feeling good! Didn't find the run too difficult and enjoying the feeling of fitness as my recovery times have definitely improved a lot! Several years ago I built myself up to being able to run 5k in under 30 mins without any kind of structured programme, and it's reminding me how good it felt then! Unfortunately, after I'd hit my target of 5k, I lost motivation and stopped running, so I'm hoping to keep it up this time. I suspect I'll struggle over the winter!

Huge well done...and winter can ge magical..just with the right gear..and maybe a head torch...I graduated the week before Christmas in 2015...I loved it!

I've just completed week 2. So proud of myself, even ran when I was on holiday! Now planning on investing in some running trainers, having read the info on here. Thanks for keeping me motivated. Looking forward to starting week 3 on Saturday morning!

Just finished w4 (for second time round) graduated April 2018 then had 6 months not running. It was perfect running weather today slight breeze not too hot not cold. Enjoyed it.
