Hi can anyone recommend some upbeat music to run to please ? I love my rock music but even Jon Bon Jovi can't keep me going at the pace I need . Thanks πŸ˜€

You should give it a try. You'll be whooping out loud and running with your arms in the air in no time:)!!!

Yup, that's me. One of my favourite dance moves is pretending the ceiling is falling down and I need to keep pushing it back up. Whoop whoop:)!!!

I know it's old but Tom Jones is good for pace!

I have some of his old ones on my playlist-brilliant!

Tom Jones is mixed up with a whole load of random stuff.....Marianas Trench, Blossoms, Madness, Joss Stone, Marcus Collins, The police, Right said Fred, Imelda May and it continues.......I know it's a weird mix but it works for me! The thing is...it keeps me running...which is all i need! Hope some if it works for you x

What pace is it that you need?

mrrun profile image
mrrunGraduateβ€’ in reply toOldfloss

I try never to mix pace and music choice ;) Essential :) It all comes down to good vibes that your music gives you. Leave the pace to the drummer!

Well...... dare I say, ABBA get me through to 10K... Proclaimers keep me going, like this morning...happy pace.... could run for ever... :)

Just what I was going to ask! Slow pace would be my choice. Mind you I only used the podcasts with Audiofuel as supplied, and good old Laura.

chirpy cheery 60s pop? Or funk and soul? I've been picking shows from the BBC radio iplayer (can you tell...)

Or I like the first suggestion, I think things you wouldn't normally listen to can totally help!

Seconding Ministry of Sound, they have a good playlist on Spotify that I use most of the time. Dance music is the only way for me! Upbeat and repetitive and not weighed down by lyrics.

I was thinking about this today actually whilst choosing today's playlist.

Why not create a Spotify play list that is named *your C25k name / C25K

So mine would be GingerBohemian/C25K

We all chat away on here so why not share the music

Obviously I realise not everyone is on Spotify but for those that are

My absolute favourite track for running has got to be 'lust for life' by Iggy pop...it's just over 5 mins long and when it comes on when my tracks are on shuffle, I get a new lease of life

I like songs like 'despacito' I try & translate what they're singing about & before I know it another 3 minutes has passed!!! Apparently those lyrics are rude though so maybe not suitable for my innocent ears?!!!!!! πŸ˜‚

That one is well rude apparently!! My daughter is a Spanish and French teacher she won’t tell her students what it means 🀣🀣

Extreme Noise Terror

Napalm Death

Anaal Nathraakh

should help with pace

mrrun profile image

Napalm Death as a backdrop for hill run is guaranteed to shed calories. Rammstein can be a bit sentimental at times but quite good for easy runs. At full blast volume.

I have a right mix- mostly rock, punk and britpop I guess- but one of the best songs to run to has to be Walking on Sunshine! 😝

Prince and Madonna. And I sing along like an idiot as I run.

"Like a Virgin" has a lovely running pace and it's hilarious for innocent bystanders when I sing this and run. Humour gets me through a run, truly.

Go on spotify and look for 'timowenuk' and then either playlist 'Bike 2017' or 'bike'

I listen to both when on the motorbike but one is for long distance journeys and one is if I am just scootijng around doing errands
