I saw a post about choosing a song with more bpm than normal to run faster to if trying to increase speed. I'm going to try stepping stones as it includes the faster bpm but for the C25k, I identified some songs that worked for me for speed. I thought I would include them here (all available on iTunes and spotify) and people could add theirs that work for them and we can create a good repository? I've tried some bpm for jogging websites but can never find music I like. This list is random:
Oh My God (feat. Lily Allen): Mark Ronson
Foreign Affair: Mike Oldfield
Shadow on the Wall: Mike Oldfield
On and On and On: Abba
Knock 'Em Dead Kid: Motley Crue
Lose yourself: Eminem (good for intervals of being faster)
Killing in the Name: Rage Against the Machine
Gangnam Style: PSY

I tried the stepping stone podcast today where you run to the bpm pace set. The music was ok, it was like 90s amateur DJ dance music. I don't actually think I ran any faster than i normally do but it did get me running at 3 set paces (150, 155 and 160) where normally I start at snail and interval on pretty speedy until snail wants to takeover again. Just checked the running stat and, including the warm up and warm down walks, it was 5.4 km. So 5.4 in 40 mins. Feels like a lot to bring it down!
There are loads of playlists on Spotify within a 5bpm range. Yesterday I used 165-170bpm rather than my usual 160-165 and knocked almost 2 mins off my PB!
I’d be overthe moon if I could do that! I did my 5k on the treadmill today because it’s so windy and it still took 45 minutes 🙄🙄 mind you I did run for a total of 42 minutes because my warm up and down took me to a total of 52 minutes on the treadmill ha ha my stamina is improving. I’ll definitely try the podcast next thanks
